Lisa is a native Tuscan, having been born in Livorno and raised in the countryside between Florence and Siena. She started off guiding back in 2001 as a summer job while at university and... never stopped! She's now been giving tours of Florence and the Tuscan countryside for over 2 decades.
If you're looking for a fun and passionate local guide who is in love with food, wine, and life, she's the guide for you! Tours with Lisa are always informative and insightful, but she also imbues them with humor and a bit of a zest! Her goal is to help make history, culture, and art feel alive and tangible, and not just a "dusty" lesson from the past.
Her tours focus on combining stops at marquee sights and monuments with visits to her own personal favorite places and lesser-known gems, always with lots of local flavor and contemporary insight.

Buongiorno! My name is Lisa and if you wish to discover the beauty and history of Florence and the surrounding areas with a fun and enthusiastic local, I am the guide for you!
Although I've lived in Florence for over 20 years, I was born and grew up in Livorno, a city on the Tuscan coast that is away from the main touristic areas of the region (but still totally worth a visit!). I have been working leading tours since 2001 and I love it - it still feels like the first day for me. I've basically always wanted to be a guide as it lets me do what I love every day - enjoy art, history, food, and fashion - and to share those passions with others!
I am an authorized tour guide for the cities of Florence, Pisa, Siena and Livorno of course.
I'm also an official sommelier and I really like escaping the city to discover small wineries and local farms where you can taste local foods and see truly local production. From wine to pasta and from percorino cheese to truffles, I find that through these foods and their production we can learn a lot about who we Tuscans are as a people.
My tours can be fully customized and I love to create personalized tours that focus on my guests' interests and travel styles. If you want to create something unique, send me a message!
Ah, and you will probably notice this from my photos, but a very important detail about me - I love hats!
Come and enjoy Firenze and Tuscany with me! Andiamo!

My ten days in Tuscany produced many outstanding experiences and a host of treasured memories. My host family, Martino Zannol and Maria Spagnoli could not have been kinder or more helpful. The five mornings of Italian language tuition at Centro Linguistico Agorà, under the tutelage of proprietor, Lisa Ceccherini and her assistant, Martina, were a delight. Two guided tours taken in the company of guide Lisa M were wonderfully informative, giving us, respectively, an intimate knowledge of historic Livorno, and in the museum tour, an extremely well informed introduction to the Medici family, and, by way of contrast the work of internationally renowned cartoonist Hugo Platt! This trip exceeded all my expectations as it gave time to discover Lucca, Pisa and Montenero as well as several theatre and concert visits and to attend a high tec Robotic conference. Huge thanks to all those charming Tuscans who combined to make this the holiday of a lifetime.

Lisa was the perfect guide for us on our day in Florence! We had only set up a tour of the Academy and Uffizi because we did not know any better, and we specified that we really only wanted to see the Botticelli's at Uffizi. Lisa was able to provide for us a much broader understanding and appreciation for all of Florence, its history, iconic buildings, and citizens. We should have stayed at least 2 days there! Not only was Lisa a fountain of information, she was able to tailor her information toward our interests. She was also very interesting to listen to and clearly passionate about each topic we discussed.

We were so lucky to had Lisa as our guide to see the Uffizi. We wanted to share this visit with our children (3.5, 6 and 8.5 yo) and Lisa gave us the best experience we could wish for. She perfectly planned everything, timing every step so that the children were at ease and engaged in the activities she prepared for them. The treasure hunt with postcards and colouring books with paintings and monuments was a genius touch. She is an experienced and reliable professional, but most of all she is passionate about Florence, art and history of art, so that she can really share her love for every corner and every paintings. The children - and us too - were enchanted by the magic stories she told us for each masterpiece. Can't recommend her enough!

Lisa was recommended to us through our guide in Rome and she was absolutely fantastic! We had the best day exploring all the highlights of Florence and Lisa was so knowledgable and was so sweet to take us to wonderful hidden gems like a wine tasting with her local friends who made us feel like family. We can’t recommend her enough! THANK YOU LISA!

As beautiful as Florence is, seeing it through Lisa's eyes is a gift of magnificence. We have toured with her several times and couldn't recommend her more highly. She gears your tour to the needs and interests of the group or individuals beautifully. Lisa's Florence is one I'd like to return to, again and again!
