The Colosseum is Italy's most visited attraction and one of the world's most famous archaeological sites. So famous, in fact, that in 2025 over 15 million people walked through these ancient and glorious ruins.
What that means for you as a visitor is that crowds can be intense, lines long, and expectations high.
Also, while the Colosseum's structure itself is a marvel, the most interesting part of visiting is really learning about the lives of the ancient Romans, the inner workings of the building, and the fascinating history, culture, and mythology surrounding the games and spectacles that were held here.
After over 3 decades guiding inside this "old" arena, I have quite a lot of info to share, along with some well-earned tips and tricks to get the most out of a visit.
And then there's the Forum, another place that gives us the opportunity to explore the culture and history of the Roman Empire. As we stroll the site, we'll chat about everything from daily life to palace intrigue.
