About
Every visitor to Florence must see the Florentine Duomo, consecrated to Saint Mary of the Flowers, with it's incredible dome, created by the genius of Filippo Brunelleschi thanks to an innovative technique still unknown in modern times.
We start our visit directly outside the cathedral where we'll chat about its construction, history, symbolism, and the incredible works of art that have graced it.
Next, we'll enter the Baptistery, which dates back to the 6th century and was built over ancient roman ruins.
We’ll then explore one of the most interesting museums of Florence, the OPA museum, where we'll learn about the construction of the Cathedral and the important personalities and artists who were integral to its realization.
After the museum, we have the option of either climbing Giotto's bell tower (which your ticket gives you access to) or going underground into the cathedral's crypt.
Please note: While the Brunelleschi pass is included in this ticket and gives you access to climb the Dome, we will not climb it together. I don't think the Dome climb is a good use of our time together, so I recommend doing it on your own either before or after the tour.
