Vincenzo is a licensed volcanological guide who leads hiking tours and active day trips all over Mount Etna. Hailing from a little town on the volcano's slopes, he's about as local as they come and Etna is quite literally his backyard.
While he of course does the challenging hikes to the summit craters, he also runs more leisurely experiences that combine time exploring the volcano's stunning terrain with visits to little villages and lovely vineyards on its slopes. Etna is more than just hiking!
With a strong scientific background, Vincenzo is able to share really fascinating insight into the volcanic activity, the unique geological formations, and the constantly evolving landscape found here. And having guided guests of all ages and interest levels, he knows how to present this information in a way that doesn't feel like just another science class.
Whether you're looking for a challenging ascent to the summit or an easy family-friendly day out on the volcano, Vincenzo is always happy to work together to create a perfectly tailored experience.

Hello and welcome to Sicily! I'm Vincenzo.
If you're reading this, I think I can assume you're planning a visit to Mount Etna. And if you're looking for a guide who knows the volcano inside and out (well, maybe not literally inside), I'd love to help you explore!
As a local, guiding on Etna is not simply my job; it's also my everyday life. The mountain is my home - it's where I'm from and where I still live - so even when not working, I spend most of my time here. And so that I can offer clients the best possible experience when they visit, I am always studying, observing, and trying to understand the mountain's moods.
I think of my role as a guide as much more than just safely (!!) showing people around a volcano. I'm also here to interpret what we see, to share Etna's physical, cultural, and historical importance, and to show you aspects of the volcano that you couldn't see on your own. And, of course, I also want to give you a warm Sicilian welcome to this part of the island!
If you wish, I can arrange everything for your visit: transportation, trekking options, private routes, crater access, wine tastings at local wineries, and visits to charming villages and towns.
My objective is simple: to make your time on Etna unforgettable and to share with you the atmosphere of a volcano that is, at the same time, majestic, powerful, and surprisingly alive. It would be my pleasure to guide you and introduce you to the place I am proud to call home.
Ci vediamo sulla montagna - see you on the mountain!

A superb family experience climbing to two of Mount Etna's peaks (Northeast and Bocca Nuova), accompanied by the wind and the smell of sulfur, followed by long, flowing strides through the Valle del Bove on the return! Our guide, Vincenzo, provided excellent advice from our first email exchange until our arrival in Sicily! He shared a wealth of information about Etna, from its various volcanic evolutions to the physical characteristics one discovers throughout the ascent. Vincenzo is very attentive and even took the time to accompany our youngest child...and she was thrilled! 😉 "It was sooooooo cool!!!" said our youngest ❤️ This will remain one of the best experiences of our trip to Sicily, and we highly recommend it to anyone who wants to discover Etna 🌋 in an intimate and personalized way! 👍

Vincenzo was great - engaging without being overbearing, and clearly knows what he’s doing. He comes from a family that’s been in this work a long time, and you can feel the depth of experience in how he runs the day. He’s knowledgeable, multi-talented, and has a real love for Sicily, the land, his people, and especially the food! Safety was always the priority, but it still felt like an adventure. I appreciated how he paced things and seemed to pick up on what we were drawn to, shaping the day in a way that felt natural. We were completely unprepared for how breathtaking the summit would be! Photos don’t touch it! Vincenzo also pointed us toward one of his favorite places for the rest of our road trip, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our vacation! If you’re on the fence, go. You won’t regret it. Many thanks, again!
