About
During this day we will get to know the true Queen of eastern Sicily, known to locals as "a muntagna" (the mountain): the majestic Mount Etna volcano. We'll drive to Etna and then spend the morning exploring the volcano - either by vehicle, cable car, or on foot - passing by the "crateri silvestri" craters, dense forest, groves of citrus fruit, pears, apples, cherries and more, lunar landscapes, and some of the most stunning and unique scenery in Sicily.
After visiting Etna, we'll head to a great nearby winery where we'll try some of the local wines (Nerello Cappuccio and Nerello Mascalese are two varietals) and have a delightful late lunch, always with good views. The grapes on Etna are rich in minerals and they have an excellent quality and unique taste.
Please note that while this tour can accommodate differing levels of mobility, a good deal of walking is required so it is not a good choice for those with major mobility limitations.
Pick-up and drop-off anywhere between Noto and Catania can be accommodated.
