About
Discover historic Rome while walking the ancient Via Appia Antica; a path that everyone from Roman emperors to simple pilgrims have trod for millennia!
We’ll start our visit by meeting at the Saint Callisto catacombs where we'll enter the underground. We'll spend about 30 minutes inside the labyrinth, before continuing on to explore the Appian Way.
After the Catacombs, we'll leisurely wander along the Appia Antica, marveling at the Aurelian Walls and stopping for visits at sights including the imperial Villa di Massenzio (Maxentius Villa complex) , the splendid Castrum (“castle”) built by Caetani, and the always elegant Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella.
