About
Only an hour from Venice and Vicenza (and 30 minutes from Treviso), the gorgeous rolling hills of the Prosecco wine region have been declared a UNESCO world heritage site. Far enough away from the more visited regions of Venice and the Veneto, the area feels totally different; rural, quiet, and local.
If you've had prosecco before, you certainly know it's delicious. But you probably don't know how "delicious" is the region where it's produced!
So, that's what I hope to show you on this full-day visit to the charming Prosecco wine region, centered around the towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.
We'll visit two wineries, which I've chosen for being historic, having great wine cellars, offering terrific views, and being run by passionate producers. We'll tour the grounds, see the production facilities, and taste lots of wine with our hosts, the producers themselves.
We'll also stop for a fabulous lunch of authentic fare at a charming local trattoria.
Our day starts with a scenic drive through the hills, passing by green vineyards and bucolic countryside. We'll have ample chance to stop the car and take in fabulous panoramic views, and we'll stretch our legs while enjoying a nice coffee break at a local cafe.
Next, we'll visit our first winery, then drive to a great local restaurant for lunch. After a hearty meal, we'll head to our second winery visit to try some more great wines.
We'll finish the day chatting more about the region and its wine during the drive back to your accommodation.
