About
While cruising along on e-bikes, let's discover Cagliari and the lovely natural areas right at the city's doorstep. We'll admire the pink flamingos at the Molentargius lagoon, followed by the excellent city beach of "Il Poetto", before we undertake a climb up to the scenic Capo Sant’Elia lighthouse, which offers a panoramic view of the city from its strategic location between two gulfs.
Our excursion starts from the city center and quickly reaches the beautiful port of Cagliari where the city's seafront bike path begins.
In less than half an hour we'll reach the entrance to Molentargius Park, where we'll be immediately welcomed by hundreds of flamingos. We'll spend some time her to photograph them and learn about the habits of this elegant bird.
After crossing through the park, we'll connect with the bike path that runs along the (very long) Poetto beach, the city's main public swimming area. Depending on the season, or your interest in swimming, we can stop for a quick dip here.
Whenever we're ready, we'll continue on to conquer the Sant’Elia lighthouse, which overlooks the azure and crystal-clear green waters of the splendid Cala Mosca, a small beach much loved by the people of Cagliari.
From this hill, the you'll have views stretching over the city, the Gulf of Cagliari and the Gulf of Angels, the entire Molentargius park, and Il Poetto beach. After descending from the lighthouse, we'll celebrate a successful ride with an aperitivo (some drinks and light bights) in a lovely spot that offers a magnificent sea view.
Finally, we'll head back to the city center along the flat, easy bike path and will relax and reminisce on a wonderful day together.
Note: Except for the climb to the lighthouse, the route is completely flat and is entirely along a bike path.
